How do I apply to register as a lobbyist to use this system as required by the Lobbyist Act?
NOTE: The following application process does not constitute a registration!
To be able to submit your registrations on-line, we need to follow the process below:
(1) Fill out and submit the 'Online Application' form
You must complete and submit the on-line application form. The information contained in this form is necessary to establish a user account in our database. Part of the application form is agreeing to the User Agreement which is available for download and printing in "Adobe pdf" format. By agreeing to the User Agreement, you are also certifying that the information you submit to the Registry is true and correct to the best of your knowledge and information. This certification is required by section 9 of the Lobbyists Act. If you don't have "Adobe Acrobat Reader" on your system, it is available free from Adobe's web site.
(2) Reply to Confirmation Email
You will be required to reply to an email that gets generated when the Application form is submitted. This email is to verify that the email entered in the application is valid.
(3) Lobbyist Registrar Approval
Once the system receives your confirmation email, the application form will be forwarded to the Lobbyist Registrar for final approval. If the application form is complete and there are no further questions, your application will be processed and you will receive an e-mail containing your Lobbyist ID and password. The email message also contains a URL link to the secure section of our web site restricted to registered lobbyists only. When you click on or copy and paste this URL into your browser, you will be prompted to log in. After entering your Lobbyist ID and password provided by the Registry, you will see a "Please Wait..." message while the system searches the database. This search is done in case you have any existing registrations or previously started registrations in the system. If any are found they are displayed below a button to create a New Registration. Use this button to create an initial registration.
