The Ethics Commissioner is an Officer of the Alberta Legislature, as are the Auditor General, the Chief Electoral Officer, the Information and Privacy Commissioner, and the Ombudsman.  For more information on the role of the Office of the Ethics Commissioner, please visit the website at www.ethicscommissioner.ab.ca.  A biography of the Ethics Commissioner can also be found on the Ethics Commissioner website.

Pursuant to the Lobbyists Act, the Ethics Commissioner has responsibility for the lobbyists registry.  The Ethics Commissioner acts as Registrar for the registry unless another person within the Office of the Ethics Commissioner is delegated to fulfill the duties of the Registrar.  The Ethics Commissioner has delegated those functions to the Registrar, Lobbyists Act.
